From Bibliography to Blogs

Some of you may be familiar with Patricia Altner's excellent Vampire Readings: An Annotated Bibliography (Lanham, Maryland: Scarecrow Press, Inc., 1998).

But did you also know she has her own blog?

Feel free to check out Patricia's Vampire Notes, in which she writes her "musings on vampires and various other fictional, paranormal critters."

Remnants of the VRI

This is what's left of the webpage of the former Vampirism Research Institute (VRI), founded by Liriel McMahon. Such is the fate of many organisations founded in the name of vampire fandom and research.

The page was last updated on "September 14th 2003".

The site in question has a couple of dead links. So, don't bother trying to access McMahon's "Looking at Mirrors and Vampires" (c. Nov. 10 1997) or "Vampire as Path to Meaning" (c. Nov 9th 1997) articles.

However, you should still be able to read the "Fan Survey Report #9221" (circa 1993), Craig Anderson's "Vampires and Evil" (c. November 14th 1998) and "The VRI Booklist - by Author" (Mod. Oct 23rg 1998).

Paranormal Archaeology

The author of In Small Things Found, ahtzib, bills himself as an

Archaeologist with a semi-professional interest in the anthropology of the paranormal. I try to keep you up on the culture of the unknown and mysterious.

This fusion proves interesting to fellow vampire researchers, with blog entries like "Vampire Archaeology".

Not only is it well-researched and cited, but also includes links to other articles of interest.

Go check it out.
